Eroc, Optimus, and DJ Flip met
in Boston and united to form The Foundation in 2001.
With origins in Puerto Rico, Liberia, and the Philippines, their
cultural diversity as well as their experiences growing up in Boston
influenced their music, and they are committed to addressing issues
of injustice and oppression while entertaining crowds with hot
beats and relevant lyrics.
The Foundation has performed for crowds of 30 to 30,000, sharing
the stage with KRS-One, Pharoah Monch, Dead Prez, Michael Franti/Spearhead,
EDO G, Medusa, Supernatural, Billy Bragg, Akrobatik, Mr. LIF and
Amiri Baraka.
Internationally The Foundation has performed in Canada, England,
France, Cuba, Bahamas, South Africa, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Israel
and Palestine, and in cities across North East United States including
New York City, Philadelphia, Boston and Providence.
